7 marketing festivals you shouldn’t miss this year
Key dates for your diary in the year ahead
February 25, 2016
So many marketing festivals – so little time. Planning a schedule to stay on top of the latest thinking in the industry can be a demanding business. So which are the conferences you should be putting into your diary for the rest of 2016? Here are seven worthy of a place in any marketer’s calendar. Between them they cover all aspects of integrated marketing, media planning, marketing operations and more. And they’ll showcase inspiring thinking from across EMEA and beyond. Here are our top marketing festival recommendations:
Dubai Lynx - 6-8 March, Dubai
Dubai’s International Festival of Creativity turns ten years old this year. It’s come a long way in that time – multi-cultural and cutting edge, it’s a great opportunity to pick up new ideas early in the year.
Ad Week Europe - 18-22 April, London
LinkedIn is proud to be a sponsor of Ad Week Europe 2016, bringing the latest thinking and most sought-after speakers on marketing and creativity to London’s West End.
Global Festival of Media - 18-20 May, Rome
Celebrating innovation and fresh thinking in media, the Global Festival of Media has a mission to keep challenging and evolving the industry’s thinking, tackling challenges and opportunities such as programmatic and ad blocking as they emerge.
Cannes Lions - 18-25 June, Cannes
The Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity remains the mother of all marketing-related festivals, in part because its remit is so deliberately broad. It’s an opportunity to immerse yourself in a whole host of creative perspectives, on everything from Artificial Intelligence to music mash-ups.
SiriusDecisions Summit Europe - 26-27 September, London
The SirusDecisions Summit is Marketing Strategy & Operations’ equivalent of Cannes or Ad Week Europe, packed with the latest thinking on aligning sales and marketing for greater effectiveness throughout the funnel.
Festival of Marketing - 5-6 October, London
The 2015 Festival of Marketing threw up some great thinking on everything from neuroscience to the role of social in B2B and the emotional side of business decision-makers. We’re looking forward to more of the same this year.
Of course, the conferences that matter most to you will depend on the area of marketing that you specialise in. We know our colleagues in Marketing Strategy & Operations are making time for the online-only conference Conversion World 2016 (18-20 April), search takes centre stage at SMX Munich (17-18 March), and for those focused primarily on social, Engage Prague (11-14 May) is well worth a visit. The variety of conferences reflects just what a rich and varied profession Marketing now is. It shows too just how much original thinking is out there when it comes to taking the industry forward.
