7 Knockout Reasons to Subscribe to the LinkedIn Marketing Solutions Blog

September 18, 2016

The rules of content marketing hold that content marketing should be helpful, informational, useful, entertaining. Your content marketing should avoid the hard sell.

I agree with those rules. But sometimes rules are meant to be broken.

The most effective marketers are creating content for the entire funnel, which means sometimes they’re creating demos (ideally, entertaining, highly informational demos) and other lower funnel content. Which means sometimes you have to ask for the order.

This blog post is asking for the order: We’re asking you to subscribe to the LinkedIn Marketing Solutions blog. We believe so strongly in the usefulness of our blog to digital marketers that we created this infographic, “7 Knockout Reasons to Subscribe to the LinkedIn Blog.”

Here’s a quick summary of the seven reasons why we think that’s a good idea for digital marketers:

1. We Go Toe-to-Toe with the Topics You Care About

On a daily basis we write about the topics you're interested in: content marketing, social media, account-based marketing, big data, metrics and analytics, and so much more.

2. News That Packs a Punch

We strive to be useful, but our blog posts also strive to avoid the classroom lecture feel. We've provided the George Costanza approach to content marketing, analyzed Irish marketing triumphs for St. Patrick's Day, and even given B2B marketing that rock 'n roll attitude.

3. Heavyweight Lessons for Marketers — from Marketers

We get in the ring every day to do just what you do: find more effective ways to connect with your audience. This blog is where we share lessons learned.

4. A Knockout Team That Can't Stop Writing About Marketing

Members of our team have written two books: Welcome to the Funnel and The Big Data-Driven Business. More are on the way.

5. The Best Marketing Minds Are in Your Corner

The best thinkers in the sweet science of marketing have written for our blog. Marketers whose thoughts have appeared on the blog include Engagio's Jon Miller, Content Marketing Institute's Joe Pulizzi, and Oracle Marketing Cloud's Andrea Ward

6. Exclusive LinkedIn Product Announcements

Subscribers to the LinkedIn Marketing Solutions blog are among the first to get new product announcements about LinkedIn Sponsored Content, LinkedIn InMail, Dynamic Ads, Text Ads, and more.

7. You Have a Choice

Subscribe to the blog in one of two ways — daily or weekly — so you get insight into the latest in digital marketing at the cadence you want.

By the way, social media influencer Gary Vaynerchuk agrees with the approach of being helpful in your content marketing — but eventually trying to make the sale. In his book, "Jab, Jab, Jab, Right Hook," Vaynerchuk calls the helpful pieces of content marketing “jabs.” But you can’t jab forever. Sometimes you have to throw a right hook. Sometimes you have to ask, politely, for the order.

Which is what I’m doing right now: Subscribe to the LinkedIn Marketing Solutions blog today. And you know, I forgot to mention the eighth reason to subscribe: It's free.
