B2B Beat: 5 Key Sessions at the 4A’s Transformation 2016 Conference in Miami Beach

March 20, 2016

The march of change in the marketing and advertising world continues apace. More than 1,000 attendees will be at the 4A’s Transformation 2016 conference in Miami Beach this week in effort to ensure that they continue to stay one step ahead of this march of change.

"The advertising industry continues to see constant and rapid change, and we are here to advise on how to make sense of the latest developments and innovations that impact agencies and marketers," Nancy Hill, President-CEO of the 4A's, said in a press release.

The B2B Beat took a look at the Transformation 2016 conference’s agenda, and we’ve highlighted some of the key sessions that we’ll be sure to attend:

The Truth About Talent

Tuesday, March 22, 11:20 a.m.

In this session, agency leaders discuss what agencies can do to attract and retain top talent. LinkedIn’s Jann Schwarz, our Global Director, Agency Holding Companies, will unveil for the very first time, research on why advertising professionals change jobs and what influences them to join another agency (or not). Other panelists are Jon Cook, Global CEO, VML; Marie-Claire Barker, Global Chief Talent Officer, MEC; and Jim Kelly, Chief Communications Officer, DigitasLBi. Abbey Klaassen, CMO of 360i, will moderate the panel.

Inside the Minds of Marketers

Tuesday, March 22, 1:30 p.m.

Leaders from giant brands will discuss risk, innovation, and engagement. Panelists include: Maryam Banikarim, Global CMO, Hyatt Hotels Corporation; Jim Berra, CMO/SVP, Royal Caribbean International; Luanne Calvert, CMO, Virgin America; and Rex Jackson, Marketing Director, LEGOLAND Florida Resort. Meredith Kopit Levien, EVP, Chief Revenue Officer, The New York Times Company, will moderate the panel.

Programmatic (If You Think It Can Go Programmatic, It Will Go Programmatic)

Wednesday, March 23, 11:15 a.m.

Programmatic is moving from search and display ads to television and anywhere else where it’s possible to identify individual users and serve them targeted digital advertising. This panel will discuss how to be prepared. Panelists: Megan Pagliuca, Global CEO, Accuen; Matt Sweeney, CEO, North America, XAXIS; Eric Mathewson, Founder and CEO, WideOrbit; Joan Gillman, EVP and COO, Media Services, Time Warner Cable Inc.; and Meredith Hall, GM, Learning and Development, The Trade Desk. Matt Spiegel, SVP/GM, Data and Technology Solutions, MediaLink, will be the moderator.

An Interview With a Holding Company CEO

Wednesday, March 23, 1:30 p.m.

The conference cliché is that the presenter right after lunch has the unenviable task of keeping the sated audience awake. That shouldn’t be much of challenge for the never boring Sir Martin Sorrell, Chief Executive, WPP, (and LinkedIn Influencer). He’ll be interviewed by Ken Auletta, author and contributor at The New Yorker.

Mobile Disruption and the Implications for Marketers and Agencies

Thursday, March 24, 10:15 a.m.

Mobile is transforming the marketing world. Around 60 percent of the traffic to LinkedIn is mobile. This panel will examine how agencies and clients are reacting to this monumental shift. Panelists include: Barry Lowenthal, President, The Media Kitchen; Kate Watts, Managing Director, DC, Huge; and Chieh Huang, CEO and Co-Founder, Boxed. Michael Lieberman, Chief Operating Officer, North America, tenthavenue, will moderate the panel.

The topics of the conference will tackle are analyzed every day on the LinkedIn Marketing Solutions blog. Subscribe to the blog today!
