General Electric's Markowitz to Discuss Data and Marketing Automation at CES

The Consumer Electronics Show is taking place this week from January 6-9 in Las Vegas. CES is a constantly evolving event and is no longer exclusively about the latest breakthroughs in consumer technology; it’s also about technological advancements in areas beyond retail.

For instance, the C Space portion of the event, which is described as “the official CES experience for creative communicators, brand marketers, advertising agencies, digital publishers, and social networks,” will enable attendees to take a deeper dive into how technology has transformed marketing, advertising, and communications.

Among the sessions aimed at the marketing community is “C Space Storyteller: LinkedIn and GE.” The session will feature Andy Markowitz, General Electric’s General Manager of Performance Marketing Labs, and Penry Price, Vice President of LinkedIn Marketing Solutions.

During the session, Markowitz and Price will explore the intersection of marketing automation, data, and lead nurturing. As data enables the identification of website visitors by their business demographics and their onsite behavior, marketers can customize content like never before. They will also address the concept that because marketers can accurately identify users, they owe them a relevant, valuable experience online.

Other topics Markowitz and Price plan to examine include how marketers can:

  • Connect with customers at every stage of the funnel.
  • Track prospects across platforms
  • Deliver personalized experiences on websites and elsewhere.

Markowitz will also share GE’s results as the company utilizes Marketo’s marketing automation software in tandem with LinkedIn Marketing Solutions to nurture leads with unequalled precision.

Make sure to put this session into your CES calendar. The half-hour session begins on Wednesday, Jan. 6, at 11:30 a.m. PST in ARIA, Level 1, Pinyon 5.

LinkedIn’s Jon Williams, who is our Senior Director. Partner, Agency & Content Experience Team, is also participating in a panel discussion at CES. The session, “Social Content, Campaigns & Advertising,” will examine how social campaigns – as a mixture of entertainment, branding and advertising – are quickly becoming a $10 billion annual industry. The panel will discuss how tapping social data can deliver outsized ROI for marketers. 

In addition to Williams, other panelist for this session are: Andrew Solmssen, Managing Director, POSSIBLE, Los Angeles; Tara Marsh, Global Head of Content, Wunderman; David T. Nguyen, Ph.D., TechLabs, Digital Customer, Accenture; Kirstin Benson, Editorial Director, WhoSay; and Steven Feuling, CEO, Vizeum. Tania Yuki, Founder and CEO, Shareablee, will be the panel moderator.

The "Social Content, Campaigns & Advertising" session takes place on Thursday, January 7, at 11:30 a.m. in LVCC, North Hall, Room N264.
