One unforeseen drawback of technology is that it prevents epic stories from happening. Take the movie Home Alone, for example.
Then again, thanks to technology, maybe Mr. & Mrs. McCallister would actually feel comfortable parenting from Paris. Kevin could check in daily via Skype or FaceTime to show his parents that he’s still alive and the house is still standing. Meanwhile, they get to enjoy the City of Lights with peace of mind while Kevin fulfills his wish of living alone, at least for a week. It may not be technically legal, but it is possible.
