Join the Livestream: Education Connect 2015 Explores the Future of Higher Education
October 9, 2015
That’s the thing about marketers in the education sector: They’re so busy promoting their school’s education programs, that it’s rare to take time out for their own learning and development. That’s why it’s so important for the education industry to engage in creative solutions and conversations by attending events like LinkedIn’s Education Connect 2015, which takes place Thursday, October 15, in New York City.
At Education Connect, some of the most influential marketers and decision-makers in higher education will gather explore the unique challenges facing today's education marketers. Featuring speakers such at Zoe Baird, CEO of the Markle Foundation, and Ted Mitchell, the Under Secretary of the U.S. Department of Education, the event will cover how academic institutions can leverage LinkedIn as a partner to all the stakeholders in their organizations — from marketing to admissions and alumni relations.
While in-person registration has reached capacity, you won’t have to miss a moment of the sessions – because you can watch the entire event in real-time thanks to our live streaming coverage of Education Connect.
This year's Education Connect theme is "The Future of Higher Education." You'll hear practical insights on this topic from thought leaders and senior-level marketers in the higher education field. A centerpiece of the event is a fireside chat with Ted Mitchell, from the U.S. Department of Education, who will talk with Dan Roth, our executive editor, for 45 minutes on "The State of Higher Education: A New Era of Learning." Topics will include Mitchell's opinions on the future of higher education, outcome measurements, the affordability of educational programs, and innovations in the industry.
Another key session will present a conversation between Baird, CEO of the Markle Foundation, and Allen Blue, LinkedIn co-founder and vice-president of product management. The pair will share their insights on "Connecting to Opportunity in a Digital World," addressing the global skills gap. They will explore how LinkedIn and higher education can partner to solve this issue by leveraging data and networks to better connect job seekers to opportunity.
