The Consumer Electronics Show is the world's stage for innovative and emerging technologies. From the debut of the computer mouse at the 1967 showcase, to the introduction of the Apple Watch in 2017, CES has long been the catalyst for introducing technology to the consumer landscape. With more than 175,000 attendees and more than 4,000 exhibiting companies in 2019, the buzz is only getting louder for the upcoming 2020 show, which is held January 7-10, promises exhibitions on 5G and self-driving cars to name a few. 

The excitement of CES generates a lot of activity from LinkedIn members, with more 325 million engagements and over 17 million unique members posting on LinkedIn about this event since 2013. As technologies showcased at CES become more complex each year, members grow more excited to join the conversation. LinkedIn engagements from CES-related content has consistently grown year over year. Engagements jumped 25% from 2018 through September 2019 alone.

The conversations about the emerging technologies from CES don’t end after the event. In fact, not only did 2019 have an increase in month over month mentions compared with 2018, but engagements started spiking in April and continued to climb leading up to the event for 2020.
