Collaborating to Create The World FinTech Report 2017: Capgemini and LinkedIn

September 6, 2016

Capgemini and LinkedIn

Financial institutions face a compelling change imperative as customer expectations are on the rise. There is no doubt that demographic shifts and the pace of technological advancements is accelerating. Decreasing barriers to entry also fosters a new wave of competition and FinTech challengers with investments increasing four-fold in the last two years.

However, we believe that by 2020, ‘FinTech’ as a distinct category will look very different and may even cease to exist. While select FinTechs may manage to gain scale with viable business models, the next wave of disruption will be dominated by firms that bring together innovation and agility from incumbents. Those challengers that deliver intuitive and rewarding customer experiences in both an agile and scalable way will also stand out.

The immediate challenge is shifting from a product-centric mindset to a customer-centric approach. Capitalizing on the moments that matter most during a customer’s journey and delivering above and beyond the typical user experience will be essential.

How do institutions know which experiences to create to drive customer loyalty? What guiding principles can firms look to in shaping “Wow” versus “How” engagement? And what can incumbents and challengers alike bring to the table together to innovate and drive these experiences?

You can explore the art of the possible through our collaboration with Capgemini to deliver our latest global research initiative. The ‘World FinTech Report 2017’, aims to help financial institutions filter through the noise around FinTech, to get to the more pragmatic approaches on where to investigate, and to prioritize efforts.

Spanning banking, payments, insurance, and wealth management, the study, in collaboration with EFMA, involves research from more than 15 markets across the globe. It analyzes the customer journey and key moments of truth for today’s financial services customers. It explores how the industry is responding as it faces disintermediation and disruption from FinTechs including best practices, partnerships and approaches for applying innovation.

We will also be identifying and recognizing shapers in the industry that act as ‘Agents of Change’. These individuals are making significant inroads in their respective industries for the benefit of customers. We will share unique access to these organizations and will unearth the drivers of innovation at pivotal points along their customer journeys, as well as how they are practically applied.
