Industry events are a fantastic avenue for learning, networking and recharging the inspirational engine. If you have yet to decide which social media and content marketing events to attend this year, read on to discover 12 months’ worth of outstanding opportunities to choose from.
September 8 – 11; Cleveland, OH
Billed as the largest content marketing event on the planet, Content Marketing World is the place to learn from and connect with the best and the brightest in the industry. Oscar Award-winning actor Kevin Spacey will deliver the closing keynote this year.
September 15 – 18; Boston, MA
Inbound 2014 will feature five inspiring keynotes, more than 170 sessions and over 7,500 attendees. Bestselling author Malcolm Gladwell will be there. Will you?
September 23 – 25; Indianapolis, IN
Connections 2014 showcases the latest technology and trends while also highlighting customer stories and best practices. This year’s lineup features General Electric SVP and CMO Beth Comstock, bestselling author and video blogger John Green, and Twitter Chief Communications officer Gabriel Stricker, along with a live music event featuring will.i.am, The Script, and DJ Casey Connor.
September 29 – October 3; New York, NY
This year marks the 11th gathering of the world’s premier marketing and communications leaders. Advertising Week is a four-day event, featuring 90,000 attendees learning from 250+ events, which include a hybrid of thought leadership seminars and topics that target specific audience constituencies.
October 6 – 9; Las Vegas, NV
“Since 2000, Pubcon has been bringing the very best in online marketing and SEO to countless attendees from over 130 different countries.” This year’s list of keynote speakers includes IZEA founder Ted Murphy and Youtility author Jay Baer.
October 8 – 10; Boston, MA
MarketingProfs’ Annual B2B Marketing Forum is always a great mix of inspiration, networking, knowledge, and fun. Keynote speakers this year include QR Codes Kill Kittens author Scott Stratten, Steal Like an Artist and Show Your Work author Austin Kleon, and Founder of the Data & Society Research Institute danah boyd.
October 7 – 30; Online
This “online mega conference” brought to you by Social Media Examiner features over 45 of the world’s top social media marketing pros, live from your computer.
October 15 – 17; Austin, TX
You’ve got tough marketing questions; the Spredfast Summit has answers. The Spredfast Summit features “today’s best and brightest big brand and social media marketers”. Confirmed brands include Target, ESPN, and KPMG.
October 16 – 17; New York, NY
Pivot features two days of tightly-themed agendas designed to help marketers “pinpoint the weakest areas of your social strategy, and understand how to set a course to strengthen them and conquer competition”. For example, “The Digital Imperative” is the theme for day one, with “Cause” in the morning and “Effect” in the afternoon.
October 25 – 30; San Diego, CA
DMA 2014 is “The Global Event for Data-Driven Marketers”. This week-long celebration of art and science features ideas, innovations and case studies presented by over 200 global marketing leaders from some of the world’s top brands.
October 28 – 30; San Diego, CA
Social Fresh does the conference curating so you don’t have to. It’s a single track event with all attendees in the same room, and all speakers on the same stage. There are no panels and sessions are only 25 minutes, “forcing [speakers] to focus on specific topics and drop all the fluff”.
November 3 – 6; Chicago, IL
ClickZ Live Chicago will feature over 50 sessions across four days and ten individual tracks on topics ranging from content marketing strategy to social innovation to next generation search.
November 5 – 6; New York, NY
Ad-Tech is the place for digital marketers to develop skills, build a personal brand and accelerate growth. Keynoters include John Nardone, CEO, Chairman at [x + 1] and Alan Cohen, Co-Founder at Giant Spoon.
November 19 – 20; Las Vegas, NV
SMX is your conference to “master paid, earned and owned social media tactics”. SMX is programmed by Search Engine Land Editor-in-Chief Danny Sullivan and SMX VP of Event Editorial Chris Sherman.
December 9 – 10; Dallas, TX
Last year’s event included Apple Co-Founder Steve Wozniak and Randi Zuckerberg of Zuckerberg Media. This year’s event is still coming together, but you can visit the website to stay up-to-date on the latest Dallas Digital Summit happenings.
December 10 – 13; Deer Valley, UT
The Search Insider Summit covers all things search and provides a four-hour afternoon window for activities like skiing, snowmobiling, and tubing. The agenda is in development, but this is clearly an ideal event for search marketers who enjoy playing in the snow.
