Support and Functionality
Why is LinkedIn moving in this direction?
We’ve listened to inputs from our clients and there’s a strong demand to shift to a model where paperwork isn’t mandatory and clients have the autonomy to manage their advertising campaigns on their own.
How does this change how I work with LinkedIn?
Moving your business account online is merely a change in our process to minimise paperwork and improve turnaround time. There should be no changes to how your LinkedIn Sales rep will be supporting you on your account. For specific questions around what support you can expect, please reach out to your LinkedIn Sales rep.
Does this change my support levels?
No, there should be no changes to how your LinkedIn Sales rep will continue to support you on your account. Our team will train you on how to use the Campaign Manager tool and ensure you understand how to setup, optimise, and review performance of your campaigns. For specific questions around what support you can expect, please reach out to your LinkedIn Sales rep.
Will Campaign Manager change?
No, there is no difference in the Campaign Manager user experience between IO-based buys and switching to a new payment method that does not include IO. However, we are always making improvements to our UI experience, so changes may be made to the interface at any given time.
Are there Campaign Manager functionalities which I cannot access if I have an online business account?
All functionalities are available on an online business account, except member persona targeting and custom sender for Sponsored InMail. If you do have an online account and are looking to target member personas or use a custom sender for Sponsored InMail, please contact your LinkedIn Sales rep for assistance.
Am I able to transfer my campaigns and performance data from an existing business account to my new online business account?
Your LinkedIn Sales rep will be able to help you duplicate your campaigns in your new online business account. However, you are not able to transfer performance data between accounts. You will continue to have access to your old accounts to access historical results.
What does this mean for agencies who work with LinkedIn on behalf of clients?
You will maintain the same day-to-day partnership with your LinkedIn Sales rep, but we’re now introducing a new way to purchase advertising on LinkedIn. In lieu of signing an IO, we can get you set up with a new business account and you can choose to pay by credit card or monthly invoicing. If you require invoicing, you will need to create a new business account and be set up as the billing admin. Agencies will also need to apply for online invoicing for each of their clients and submit their agency details under the billing section.
Billing and Invoicing
What are the various modes of payment available?
Payment can be made upfront via a credit card deposit or monthly invoicing based on campaign delivery can be setup. For instructions on how to set up online invoicing, please visit: https://www.linkedin.com/help/lms/ask/lm-liamir
Who should create the LinkedIn online business account?
The LinkedIn online business account should be created by the individual who is managing billing and payments. If the person managing billing and payments has left your company, please reach out to your LinkedIn Sales rep or submit a ticket at our Support Center https://www.linkedin.com/help/billing/ask to update to a new billing admin.
How long will it take to activate online invoicing on my business account?
Please expect a 1-4 business day turnaround time once your online invoicing application form has been submitted. Your registered legal company name must be supplied on the web form correctly, otherwise you’re likely to face delayed activation. Our support team will reach out to you if additional information is required. If you’re submitting a request to activate online invoicing on the 25th of the month or later, your account will not be enabled until the 1st of the following month.
You will be notified via email when your account has fully been set up for online invoicing. If further information is needed to set up online invoicing, LinkedIn’s Billing Support team will send you a notification requesting more information.
Can my invoice be sent to more than one contact?
Yes, your invoice can be sent to up to three recipients. To request this, please reach out to your LinkedIn Sales rep or submit a ticket at our Support Center https://www.linkedin.com/help/billing/ask.

You will have 30 days to pay the invoice unless different terms & conditions have been set up. For more information on this, please reach out to your LinkedIn Sales rep.
Will my invoices look different?
Yes, instead of all campaigns appearing as one aggregated line item on your invoice, it will now be itemized. Each campaign will appear as its own line item and have the correlated spend aligned to each campaign with each campaign appearing as its own line item with spend highlighted.
Can I set up multiple business accounts for monthly invoicing on the same form?
As our web form is regularly optimised to fit the needs and feedback from our clients, please reach out to your LinkedIn Sales rep or submit a ticket at our Support Center to get the most up to date information around this.
Am I able to create online invoicing at an agency level?
No, you are not able to set up online invoicing at an agency level. Every business account needs to be set up for online invoicing. If you are an agency with ten clients, with ten business accounts, you would need to have ten online accounts set up for invoicing separately. Please bear in mind that only the first set up would require you to fill in the full form and subsequently it is a shorter form to be completed.
Can I request for a pre-bill invoice as an online client?
No, currently pre-bill is not an available option for an online business account. However, if you do need to setup a pre-bill for your account, please reach out to your LinkedIn Sales rep and they can assist you with this.
Will the credit card get charged every day?
Weekly if your balance is $20.00 USD equivalent or more, scheduled for the seventh day from the last payment. Daily if your balance is $100.00 USD equivalent or more, scheduled for the following day. For more information please visit https://www.linkedin.com/help/lms/billing/21001/21005/12411
Do I receive a receipt everytime the credit card is charged?

How do I apply for non-standard payment terms?
You will be invoiced on a monthly basis with standard 30 day payment terms. If you need non-standard payment terms, please reach out to your LinkedIn Sales rep or visit https://www.linkedin.com/help/billing/ask.
Can I add PO number to my Online account?
Yes, you can include a PO number on your webform. If you have already submitted your web form and need to add or change a PO at the account level later, please reach out to your LinkedIn Sales rep or submit a ticket at our Support Center https://www.linkedin.com/help/billing/ask.
If you need to have multiple PO numbers within your business account, you also have the option of including the PO number into the campaign name within the Campaign Manager Tool. Your invoice will be broken out by total spend by campaign and include the naming convention from our Campaign Manager tool.
