Nobody knows more about squeezing every inch of value out of LinkedIn than those who work closely with advertisers on making their campaigns as effective as possible.
I know this because I spent nearly two years as a Campaign Manager doing exactly that role: making sure that every penny, cent and euro that my clients spent on our platform went as far as possible in delivering against their objectives. I learned a whole host of tips and tricks for making those clients’ budgets do more, making sure that it was their ads and content that reached the audiences they needed, and working with them to demonstrate the ROI of marketing on LinkedIn to their businesses.
It helped hugely that I was working within LinkedIn, and therefore able to access a whole lot of insider knowledge about how our platform’s tools work, and how to make them work better for you. I gleaned as many secrets I could about how much budget marketers really need to use LinkedIn effectively, how to be smart and savvy with their bidding, how to set up campaigns to make everybody’s lives easier, and which metrics I should be paying most attention to.
When I made the transition to working in LinkedIn’s own marketing team, and running my own campaigns on our platform, I found that all of this insider knowledge and secret tips made a massive difference. And that’s when a thought hit me: surely it’s not fair that I’m keeping all of this to myself. Don’t all marketers deserve to know what insiders like me know about LinkedIn?
I reached out to my circle of fellow former Campaign Managers and LinkedIn Insiders, content evangelists and agency directors who do a similar job of looking under the bonnet of what really drives the LinkedIn engine. We all have one thing in common. We know too much – or at least, we know too much to keep it all to ourselves. We decided to do something about it.
This eBook is our confession. It contains all of the things that every marketer using LinkedIn should know – but which far too many don’t. They’re the tips that we used to help make our clients as successful as possible, but which are just as valuable to anybody running a self-serve campaign on LinkedIn under their own steam. I’ve organised our secrets into four chapters, covering the four areas where our insider knowledge can make the biggest difference.
I hope these secrets make as big a difference to your campaigns as they have done to mine. It’s good to get them out in the open at last!
