6 Myths About LinkedIn
Sales Navigator
If you work in sales, you know how frustrating it is to have misperceptions about your product or service circulating in the marketplace.
We know this frustration firsthand. So we want to take a few minutes to set the record straight on some of the myths surrounding Sales Navigator, LinkedIn's flagship platform for modern sales teams.
Is Sales Navigator right for your sales team?
Whether or not you select Sales Navigator as your team's primary sales tool for prospecting and insights, we want you to make the decision based on good, accurate, information. So let's address seven misperceptions about Sales Navigator.
Myth No.1: “Sales Navigator has hidden costs.”
Sales Navigator's priving is transparent and does not include the hidden costs found in many software solutions. The platform features tools to help you clearly see ROI, as well as usage reporting to help increase the effectiveness of users who aren't getting the most out of it.
Moreover, sales leaders should account for the costly nature of wasting time and resources due to innacurate or outdated sales data. With Sales Navigator, you have access to trustworthy, up-to-date data.
Myth No.2: "Sales Navigator provides no direct contact information"
This is not entirely true. LinkedIn does respect and protect the privacy of its 800 million members, so LinkedIn members are free to share their contact information through the platform (or not).
What is true is that Sales Navigator does help you identify and learn about qualified new prospects, enrich the quality of your existing leads, and gain an intricate understanding of how different individuals fit within the larger buying committee.
Equipped with these trusted insights, you can be sure that when you do reach out - often via InMail, which provides a direct method of initiating contact without needing an email or phone number - you're ready to jump right into a relevant, productive conversation. Sales Navigator also analyzes your network, so you can find teammates who can help provide warm introductions to your leads. This warm outreach can go a long way toward building buyer confidence from the very first step.
Myth No. 3: "I don't need Sales Navigator, because the data I have is accurate enough."
...Is it, though? We're currently amidst a Great Reshuffle, where people are changing roles and switching jobs at a dramatically heightened rate. In fact, our data shows that turnover among corporate director-level-and-above, i.e. the mass of B2B buyers rose 29% in the three months from December 2021 to February 2022. Employment details of your prospects and customers are changing constantly. That doesn't mean buyers and decision-makers will be all that forgiving if you don't stay on top of those changes.
Only LinkedIn offers real-time, dynamic data that is self-managed by users who are motivated to keep their profile info accurate. And only Sales Navigator enables sales teams to tap into the full extent and power of that data.

Myth No. 4: "Other products provide me with enough prospects."
Computing products do not have databases of 800 million professionals, with accurate and dependable insights around them. As the Millenial and Gen Z cohorts continue to rise and occup the global workforce, it's critical to have deeper and more reliable intel around roles and responsibilities.
Any salesperson knows that all prospect opportunities are not created equal. With Sales Navigator, you'll find quantity and quality.
Myth No. 5: "The buyer intent data I already get is good enough."
Intent data is quickly becoming the lifeblood of modern sales teams because it enables you to take the next step - from knowing who to target, to knowing when to reach out.
Opportunistic timing can be the ultimate difference-maker, and Sales Navigator helps you achieve it consistently with Buyer Interest alerts. These alerts automatically inform reps when a potential buyer visits your website or LinkedIn Page, or interacts with your company's content on LinkedIn.
Myth No. 6: "I've already got enough prospect data."
Like comfy socks in the drawer or good pitchers in a baseball organization...you can never have enough high-quality prospect data! Every piece of intels helps paint a clear picture of the individual, her role, her needs, and her interests. With Sales Navigator, you'll get insights to help you better understand your leads and their business needs. LinkedIn provides real-time, up-to-the-minute data, not data that lags behind weeks or months or more.
To summarize, Sales Navigator can help you and your team...
