Announcing the Recruiting Awards
August 29, 2011
Talent Connect is back in Las Vegas this October 10-12, 2012!
Earlier this week, I published an article on Talent HQ titled “The Top 5 Reasons to Attend Talent Connect.” I am excited for this recruiting conference for many reasons – many of which I listed in the article. One of the biggest reasons (which I will expand on here) is the partnership between LinkedIn and the inaugural Recruiting Awards.
Recruiting awards at recruiting conferences are not a new concept, but we’re bringing a few new angles into the mix. As we looked at designing the next generation of an awards platform for the recruiting industry, there was one glaring gap we wanted to address – the selection process. Most awards have a judging panel, and it ends there. Yes, there are judges with our recruiting awards as well, but that is only one variable component in selecting who the winners are.
The other 2 components involve a crowd-sourcing approach. The first is public opinion – primarily practitioners within human resources and recruiting. The second is via 1,000+ conference attendees at Talent Connect, all corporate recruiting practitioners.
If you haven’t had a chance to check out the Recruiting Awards site, I invite you to do so now. I will be announcing the winners live at Talent Connect, for all 3 award categories. They include “The Talent Hunter,” “Recruiting Innovation,” and a team award for “Recruiting Organization.”
Winners will receive a crystal trophy, an iPad 2 (for individual awards) or a $750 Visa gift card (for a team award), in addition to the recognition the winners (and nominees) will receive online and at the recruiting conference. Plus, Talent HQ will be donating $750 for each of the 3 award winners to a charity of their choice.
Nominations for the recruiting awards are being accepted through Sept. 9th, 2011.
One of the driving forces behind building a competitive advantage in any organization (and their future workforce) is the job of Talent Acquisition professionals. I am looking forward to learning, sharing, networking, and celebrating the many successes we’ve all delivered for our companies – at the LinkedIn recruiting conference in October. I hope to see you there.
