Here are some of the key trends that can inform and guide your strategy as talent acquisition leader down under:
Trend #1: Social Professional Networks are increasingly associated with quality hires in Australia.
Over the last three years, social professional networks are the fastest growing source of quality hires in Australia, up 15%. Interestingly, utilizing social and professional networks ranked #3 as a long lasting recruiting trend.
Trend #2: Employer Branding is seen as both a competitive threat and a competitive advantage.
The employer branding war is well and truly in full swing! It ranked in the top 3 as being a competitive threat. But understanding your employer brand and how it can set you apart from the competition can work in your favor. A huge 90% of respondents believe employer brand has a significant impact on ability to hire great talent.
Trend #3: Organizations are underutilizing data when making hiring decisions.
Only 15% of Talent Acquisition leaders in Australia say that they feel comfortable using data to make hiring decisions versus a global average of 23%. We are well behind India: over half of their respondents said they use data to make hiring and branding decisions. Data can help with more than just hiring strategy, it can help you better understand your brand position and measure your employer brand in a quantifiable way.
