We are seeking a special education teacher to fill this valued role as the previous individual steps down for retirement. The ideal candidate will be a skilled and motivated instructor with patience and an upbeat demeanor. You will work with approximately 100 students with an array of learning disabilities and develop individualized instruction for their various needs.

Objectives of this Role

Daily and Monthly Responsibilities

  • Provide in-classroom instruction and guidance to students
  • Assess student skills and learning abilities
  • Develop personalized learning plans and monitor progress for each and every student
  • Create engaging lesson plans and activities that aid learning development
  • Communicate closely with parents and guardians regarding student development
  • Mediate classroom conflicts and resolve student interpersonal issues

Skills and Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in education
  • Minimum of four years’ teaching experience in a technical school or college prep setting
  • Experience and proven success teaching students with a variety of unique circumstances
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and mediation skills are a must

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree
  • Additional certifications are a plus
