Real Faces of Sales Awards

Who can be nominated?

Nominate your favorite person who sells. This doesn’t have to be a traditional salesperson, but it could be. It could be someone who sells B2B SaaS products for a major multi-national or someone who sells mattresses on a retail floor. It could be someone who sells ad space for millions of dollars a year or someone who owns all the sales activities for their SMB. It could be your uncle, who, through timeless relationship-based sales tactics, has been successfully selling cars for years. It could be one of your direct reports who hit their quota three months into the year by simply targeting the account no one ever thought of. We’re looking for the unsung heroes in the sales world, folks who embody “real sales” but don’t always get the credit for their savvy ways.

Who can nominate?

Anyone at all can nominate a person who sells using their LinkedIn profile, tagging the person they’re nominating’s handle (as well as LinkedIn Sales Solutions), and the hashtags #RealSales and #LIAwards. Don’t forget to mention why they deserve to win! Check out our “How it works” page for details on what makes a great nomination.

What is this contest?

LinkedIn’s Real Faces of Sales Awards are brand new in 2019 and intended to celebrate the everyday salesperson. We want to recognise those standout, up-and-coming sales people who are riding the new wave of sales in the digital age to build relationships at scale.

Where is the contest happening?

In North America (US and Canada), Europe (UK, Netherlands, Germany and France), and Asia/Australia (Singapore, India, Australia and New Zealand). We will pick four winners across the four regions for a total of 16 global winners.

When is this contest taking place?

In Europe, nominations start the 8th of April 2019 and close the 3rd of June 2019. Winners will be announced via social media starting in early May.

Why should someone participate?

Sales managers should use this opportunity to spotlight their top sales talent. Salespeople should use this opportunity to spotlight their powerhouse colleagues. Marketers should use this opportunity to recognise great partners on the sales team. And everyone knows at least one great salesperson in their life – recognise that person for their commitment to providing value to their clients and customers day in and day out.

How does someone win?

First, someone must be nominated by another person on LinkedIn. Second, an unbiased 3rd party will pick the 20 best nomination per region and request a follow up statement from the nominator. Finally, a panel of industry experts per region will review the final statements to select 3 winners per region.

How does LinkedIn decide on the finalists?

We’re looking for complete, coherent, concise nominations that include the nominee’s region, tagged handles and the appropriate hashtags. Beyond that, it’s up to our external panel to decide who represents the modern seller that is building high quality relationships at scale. Check out the “How it works” page to learn more.
