CASE STUDY
HR org engaged on day one
Employee engagement survey increase,
“I have good opportunities to learn and grow at Amex GBT.”
Virtual workforce
We knew AI education had to feel doable. Curating short, practical learning paths with LinkedIn Learning helped to make AI something people could actually use in their roles.

THE CHALLENGE
Amex GBT's talent development team faced three converging challenges: a need for consistent global onboarding, intensified by the acquisition of CWT and the shift to Workday Journeys; growing demand for AI literacy, fueled by their leadership's call to action for enterprise-wide education; and a highly distributed workforce, 92% virtual and spread across dozens of time zones, requiring accessible, practical, and flexible learning experiences.
The organization needed a solution that offered curated, consumable, role-relevant upskilling—while also meeting stringent requirements around responsible AI adoption.
THE SOLUTION
Amex GBT turned to LinkedIn Learning to anchor its AI upskilling programs, using the platform’s structured pathways and high-quality content to power new initiatives. These programs helped Amex GBT make AI accessible, increase AI fluency, and build confidence by showcasing practical applications across different roles.
Amex GBT used LinkedIn Learning’s AI framework, plus LinkedIn Learning’s structured pathways and high-quality content, to power new initiatives and make AI education relevant to each team:
Amex GBT ran small-group trials before broader deployment, created opportunities for colleagues to share feedback and spread enthusiasm, and embedded insights from the global workforce directly into content refresh cycles.
Upon completing each learning track, employees received digital badges to display on their company profiles—creating a culture of visible learning and peer recognition across the organization.
THE RESULTS
Through its strategic partnership with LinkedIn, Amex GBT successfully built a learning ecosystem that meets the demands of an AI-driven future, proactively shaping how AI integrates with their workflow and business priorities.
By investing in accessible, personalized, and ethically guided development, the organization not only upskilled its workforce—it strengthened its culture, empowered its leaders, and enhanced employee confidence at a global scale.
Broad adoption of AI learning, with exceptionally strong feedback on both foundational and advanced pathways.
Employee perceptions of learning and growth opportunities at Amex GBT strengthened, with annual Engagement survey scores rising 5 points on “I have good opportunities to learn and grow at Amex GBT.”
Immediate traction with function-specific programs, such as HR’s newly launched pathway, where 33% of the entire HR organization engaged on day one.
“LinkedIn Learning helps us turn complex skill-building into simple, engaging learning experiences — curated content that makes development more accessible, personalized, and effective for our people.”
