Technical Requirements

  • Deals is available to contracts on a Sales Navigator Team or Enterprise license.
  • Deals is currently compatible with Salesforce Enterprise Edition and above.
    • SFDC Customers using SFDC Professional Edition can also access Deals if they have purchased the Async Bulk API add-on that SFDC offers its customers.
    • Microsoft Dynamics compatibility coming soon.
  • CRM Sync must be enabled by the Sales Navigator Admin to enable Deals.
    • Deals displays opportunities from your CRM that you have permission to view.

Before you start

  • We recommend that you have a full Sales Navigator seat (Team Member + Admin license) to effectively support administration around Deals.
  • We recommend that you have CRM Admin level permissions to effectively support administration around Deals. Or, you can collaborate closely with your CRM’s Admin.
  • Ensure that CRM Sync is enabled. Learn more about how to enable CRM Sync here.

To Enable Deals for Your Team

1. Go to your Admin Settings under the Admin tab at the top of your Sales Navigation dashboard.

2. Within the Deals section, click on ‘Change’.

3. Toggle ‘Enable access to Deals for your team’ to ‘Yes’.

4. Click on “Connect to CRM to configure Deals ” and log in using your CRM Administrator login. Once you authenticate with your CRM administrator credentials, you can select the full list of  Opportunity fields that you want Deals to be able to access.

  • Note that all entries you enable will still be subject to a user’s native CRM permissions. Individual users will only be able to access the fields on this list for which they have appropriate CRM permissions.

5. This brings up a CRM login screen. Once you log in, you will see the screen below asking permission to allow Sales Navigator OAuth app. Click ‘Allow’.

To Enable Opportunity Fields for Your Team

Your team may approach you to help select which Opportunity fields appear in Deals.

1. Once you authenticate with your CRM administrator credentials, you can manage the "whitelist" of Opportunity fields that your team can include in their Deals Views.

  • Note that all entries on the whitelist will still be subject to their native CRM permissions. Individual users will only be able to access the fields on this list for which they have appropriate CRM permissions.

2. Select the fields you want within their Deals view, subject to CRM permissions.

  • Check marking fields makes them available to be added by individual users on your team. Users can only view/edit fields that they have access to in their CRM. If there is a field that is ‘view-only’ to Reps and editable by Managers, the Deals list will display the fields differently for these different users.
    • You can return to this screen to add more fields any time.
    • There is a 10 minute cache of the metadata, so the fields will not be immediately visible to users. You can connect/disconnect your CRM Admin account in the Deals section to force a refresh so that you can test out the newly added fields.
    • Disconnecting your CRM Admin account in the Deals section does not disconnect CRM Sync for your organization.

To Select Required Fields

1. You can also select the fields that are required to create a contact in your CRM. Click on ‘Manage’ within the ‘Required Contact Fields’ section.

  • If your CRM uses validation rules and requires additional fields to be filled when creating a contact in CRM, manually select the fields below.
