Real Faces of Sales Awards

1. No Purchase Necessary; Nomination Instructions.  No purchase or payment of any money is necessary to enter.  A purchase will not improve the chances of winning. 

 

During the Nomination Period (see the Awards website for the dates for each Region), you (the “entrant”) may nominate the most inspiring salesperson you know (“Nominee”) by posting on LinkedIn explaining why the person you’re nominating deserves to be recognized.  We are looking for nomination posts that generally describe how the Nominee excels at his/her role in the Sales function, whether that be in prospecting, engaging with buyers, etc. For the judging Categories, see section 4 below. The post must be visible to everyone on LinkedIn. Each entrant can only nominate an individual Nominee one time but may nominate as many different Nominees as they want. Make sure to: 

a. Tag the person you’re nominating AND tag @linkedinsalessolutions; and 

b. Include the hashtags #RealSales AND #LIAwards 

 

All entries must also meet the following criteria: 

a. Your entry must not contain confidential information of any entity or individual. For example, do not disclose revenue numbers, specific customer relationships, or other non-public information;   

b. Your entry must be original, exclusively created and owned by entrant or Nominee, and the entrant must have all rights necessary to post and submit the entry. This includes getting all necessary permissions from any person or company that has rights in the entry; 

c. Language: (1) if submitting for the NAMER or APAC region, your entry must be in English (except for Québec residents, who may submit in French); and (2) if submitting in EMEA, your language must be in French, German, Dutch or English. See Section 3 for country eligibility requirements. 

d. Your entry must respect the LinkedIn User Agreement and LinkedIn Professional Community Guidelines. 

 

LinkedIn (“Sponsor”) reserves the right to reject any nomination for any reason. By entering a Submission, you and the Nominee give consent to receive messages from Sponsor relating to the Awards and grant Sponsor and its affiliates a nonexclusive, worldwide license to use, display, reprint, reproduce, modify, distribute, publish, and process the content of your Submission and the content of your LinkedIn profile for any LinkedIn business purpose in any medium, including for marketing materials or research papers. Your Submission may be modified, such as for spelling and grammar, before being used by LinkedIn. These Terms and Conditions are subject to change at any time. 

 

2. Nomination Period. All Submissions must be received during the dates and times specified in the Nomination Period.  Sponsor will make awards based on skill - this is not a sweepstakes.  Odds of a Nominee being named a Finalist or Winner (as defined below) depend on the number and quality of eligible Submissions received during the Nomination Period.  Sponsor’s computer is the official timekeeping device for the Nomination Period. 

 

3. Eligibility.  In order to be eligible, each Nominee must be (i) at least 18 years old and the age of majority in his or her jurisdiction of residence, (ii) a legal resident of Australia, Canada, France, Germany, India, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Singapore, the United States, or the United Kingdom; (iii) a LinkedIn member at the time of submitting an entry form with a LinkedIn profile complete with photo, current or most recent position, and minimum of 30 connections, and (iv) must currently work at a job function related to sales. Current and former employees of Sponsor, Just Drive Media or of the independent judges listed on the Awards Site and their parent and affiliate companies, as well as the immediate family (spouse, parents, siblings and children) and household members of each such employee are not eligible.  

 

4. Winner Selection and Prize. Sponsor and a panel of judges will select approximately twenty (20) Nominees from each of the four (4) Regions that will be named finalists (“Finalists”). Sponsor or its agent will reach out to Nominators via InMail to alert them that their Nominee is a Finalist. Nominators will be asked to provide a supplemental testimony (short video or paragraph) about why their Nominee deserves to win. 

 

“From the Finalists, the panel of independent judges (“Judges”) will select three (3) winners from each Region (“Winners”). The fourth winner from each Region will be based on the People’s Choice Award. Sponsor or its agent will reach out via InMail to Winners, who must provide written confirmation of their agreement to the Terms and Conditions in order to be eligible to be announced as a Winner. Winners must then respond to Sponsor within five (5) days. Winner announcement will take place on or about 5-6 weeks after the close of the Nomination Period. Should Winner fail to respond to Sponsor, Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify that Winner and select a new one. Each winner will receive a trophy (ARV: $40) and recognition on the LinkedIn Sales Solutions marketing channels and the Awards site. 

 

Finalist and Winner(s) for each of the four categories will be determined based on the following: 

 

Prospecting Star 

“These people will always target the right decision makers and map out buying committees for each deal. 

“Someone who can get all the critical players in the room. They’re great at not only getting the meeting, but getting the meeting with the right decision makers. They also continue to pull in the right people throughout the buying cycle, as these typically take many months. 

 

Super Sleuth Salesperson 

"These people build credibility by uncovering relevant insights to better understand prospects and their businesses. They know what their prospects care about and if any key events or job changes occur during their deal.   

"Someone who does their homework. They know their clients and prospects' business inside and out, having done all possible research before the meeting. They never open up a conversation with "I'd like to learn more about your business" or a generic pitch because all of their communication is well-researched and tailored to the individual. 

 

Relationship Maven  

"These people engage throughout the deal cycle in a meaningful way. They find relevant reasons to stay in touch throughout the course of the deal so their deals don't go dark. 

"Someone who builds relationships that go beyond what they sell. They become friends, confidantes, mentors, life coaches, etc. These people truly value an authentic relationship with their clients and prospects and makes sure that every interaction has value. They are present, active, and trusted advisors throughout the whole sales process and remember details like names, birthdays, hobbies, etc. that make their interactions feel warm and personalized. 

 

People's Choice Award 

"Person with highest number of total nominations wins this award (each nomination must come from a different nominator). 

 

The Judges' decision is final and no correspondence or discussion will be entered into regarding the selection of Finalists or Winners. 

 

5. Conditions of Participation; Reservation of Rights.  By submitting a nomination for awards, you and your Nominee agree to abide by these Terms and Conditions and any decision Sponsor makes regarding the awards, which Sponsor shall make in its sole discretion. 

 

6. Intellectual Property.  Ownership of the pre-existing underlying intellectual property of the entrant or Nominee remains the property of the entrant or Nominee subject to Sponsor's rights to reprint, display, reproduce, perform, publish, use, and process the nomination and materials and information submitted, for the purpose of administering and promoting the awards. Each entrant and Nominee hereby warrants that any nomination and other materials and information provided by him, her or it are original with entrant or Nominee and do not violate or infringe upon the copyrights, trademarks, rights of privacy, publicity, moral rights or other intellectual property or other rights of any person or entity, and do not violate any Terms and Conditions or regulations.  If the nomination or information or materials provided by entrant or Nominee contain any material or elements that are not owned by entrant or Nominee and/or which are subject to the rights of third parties, entrant and Nominee each represents he, she or it has obtained, prior to submission of the nomination and information or materials, any and all releases and consents necessary to permit use of the nomination and information and materials by Sponsor in the manner set forth in the Terms and Conditions without additional compensation. Each entrant and Nominee warrants that the nomination and materials and information provided do not contain information considered by entrant, its employer, Nominee or any other third party to be confidential. 

 

7. Disclaimer, Release and Limit of Liability.  SPONSOR MAKES NO REPRESENTATIONS OR WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, REGARDING ANY PRIZE OR ANY ENTRANT OR NOMINEE'S PARTICIPATION IN THE AWARDS.  BY ENTERING THE AWARDS OR RECEIPT OF ANY PRIZE, TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, EACH ENTRANT AND NOMINEE AGREES TO RELEASE AND HOLD HARMLESS SPONSOR, AND ITS SUBSIDIARIES, AFFILIATES, SUPPLIERS, DISTRIBUTORS, ADVERTISING/PROMOTION AGENCIES, AND EACH OF THEIR RESPECTIVE PARENT COMPANIES AND EACH SUCH COMPANY'S OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES AND AGENTS (COLLECTIVELY, THE "RELEASED PARTIES") FROM AND AGAINST ANY CLAIM OR CAUSE OF ACTION, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, PERSONAL INJURY, DEATH, OR DAMAGE TO OR LOSS OF PROPERTY, ARISING OUT OF PARTICIPATION IN THE AWARDS OR RECEIPT OR USE OR MISUSE OF ANY PRIZE.  THE RELEASED PARTIES ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR:  (1) ANY INCORRECT OR INACCURATE INFORMATION, WHETHER CAUSED BY ENTRANTS, PRINTING ERRORS OR BY ANY OF THE EQUIPMENT OR PROGRAMMING ASSOCIATED WITH OR UTILIZED IN THE AWARDS; (2) TECHNICAL FAILURES OF ANY KIND, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO MALFUNCTIONS, INTERRUPTIONS, OR DISCONNECTIONS IN PHONE LINES OR NETWORK HARDWARE OR SOFTWARE; (3) UNAUTHORIZED HUMAN INTERVENTION IN ANY PART OF THE NOMINATION PROCESS OR THE AWARDS;  TECHNICAL OR HUMAN ERROR WHICH MAY OCCUR IN THE ADMINISTRATION OF THE AWARDS OR THE PROCESSING OF ENTRIES; OR ANY INJURY OR DAMAGE TO PERSONS OR PROPERTY WHICH MAY BE CAUSED, DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, IN WHOLE OR IN PART, FROM ENTRANT'S OR NOMINEE'S PARTICIPATION IN THE AWARDS.  The release against death and personal injury does not apply to the extent such release is not allowed by the laws of entrants' respective countries.  If for any reason an entrant's nomination is confirmed to have been erroneously deleted, lost, or otherwise destroyed or corrupted, entrant's sole remedy is another nomination in the awards. 

 

8. Privacy and Use of Information.  Sponsor collects and uses the personal information you provide when you enter the awards for the purposes of administering the awards and prize fulfillment in accordance with its privacy policy, which may be found at https://www.linkedin.com/legal/privacy-policy. 

 

9. Governing Law; Disputes.  IF YOU LIVE IN THE EMEA REGION, THE PROMOTION IS GOVERNED BY, AND WILL BE CONSTRUED IN ACCORDANCE WITH, THE LAWS OF IRELAND, AND THE FORUM AND VENUE FOR ANY DISPUTE SHALL BE IN THE COURTS OF DUBLIN, IRELAND. ALL PROCEEDINGS BROUGHT PURSUANT TO THIS PARAGRAPH WILL BE CONDUCTED IN THE COURTS OF DUBLIN, IRELAND. FOR ALL OTHER REGIONS, THE PROMOTION IS GOVERNED BY, AND WILL BE CONSTRUED IN ACCORDANCE WITH, THE LAWS OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA, AND THE FORUM AND VENUE FOR ANY DISPUTE SHALL BE IN THE COUNTY OF SANTA CLARA. IF THE CONTROVERSY OR CLAIM IS NOT OTHERWISE RESOLVED THROUGH DIRECT DISCUSSIONS OR MEDIATION, IT SHALL THEN BE RESOLVED BY FINAL AND BINDING ARBITRATION ADMINISTERED, WITHOUT RESORT TO ANY FORM OF CLASS ACTION, BY JUDICIAL ARBITRATION AND MEDIATION SERVICES, INC., IN ACCORDANCE WITH ITS STREAMLINED ARBITRATION RULES AND PROCEDURES OR SUBSEQUENT VERSIONS THEREOF ("JAMS RULES"). THE JAMS RULES FOR SELECTION OF AN ARBITRATOR SHALL BE FOLLOWED, EXCEPT THAT THE ARBITRATOR SHALL BE EXPERIENCED AND LICENSED TO PRACTICE LAW IN CALIFORNIA. ALL PROCEEDINGS BROUGHT PURSUANT TO THIS PARAGRAPH WILL BE CONDUCTED IN THE COUNTY OF SANTA CLARA, CALIFORNIA. FOR ALL PARTICIPANTS, THE REMEDY FOR ANY CLAIM SHALL BE LIMITED TO ACTUAL DAMAGES, AND IN NO EVENT SHALL ANY PARTY BE ENTITLED TO RECOVER PUNITIVE, EXEMPLARY, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR INCIDENTAL DAMAGES, INCLUDING ATTORNEY'S FEES OR OTHER SUCH RELATED COSTS OF BRINGING A CLAIM, OR TO RESCIND THIS AGREEMENT OR SEEK INJUNCTIVE OR ANY OTHER EQUITABLE RELIEF.
