Creating a Data-Driven Culture in HR
KBC's executive team is driving the company through a period of digital transformation in terms of company operations and workforce management. To support this mission, the team created a new People Analytics function led by Tracy Villanueva. Tracy's primary objective is to build a data-driven culture within HR, leveraging both internal and external data to optimise how they operate. Tracy felt confident about KBC’s data, but needed a reliable source of external data.
Tracy has leveraged LinkedIn Talent Insights for external candiate pool and market data. She has supported the rollout of Talent Insights to the heads of each country-level HR department by providing use-case examples to facilitate each team's usage of the tool.
Identify hidden gems: By facilitating the use of LinkedIn Talent Insights to a broad audience within KBC, the People Analytics team helped bring external workforce data closer to decision-makers. Concretely, this enabled HR executives to identify hidden gem markets to target in Hungary, Bulgaria and the Czech Republic and to create solutions to find and engage the best talent more efficiently.
Benchmark against competitors: By benchmarking against their peers, the People Analytics team was able to see where their competitors were getting their talent from and the specific skills they were hiring for across a range of markets.
Enrich insights on talent markets: The data in Talent Insights allowed KBC to enrich their own insights and provided a more holistic view of the overall talent landscape. The insights in the tool offered a competitive advantage over their peers and provided data and insights that the company has never had before, such as attrition within specific skill sets and business functions. Using these data-driven insights and rolling out LTI contributes to the enabling of data-driven decision-making about KBC’s workforce.
