At [CompanyX], the Capital Markets team plays a key role in setting the firm’s strategic agenda and executing on corporate development projects. Working with this team, the Capital Analyst will help to support the embedding of the economic capital framework throughout the organization. This new team member will contribute to the maintenance and growth of the company's investment portfolio.

Objectives of this Role

  • Support the maintenance and development of [CompanyX]’s capital modeling capabilities and deliver key model outputs, including Solvency Capital Requirements (SCR) submissions
  • Translate complex, technical concepts to support sound business decisions
  • Challenge and develop economic capital models and risk management processes and procedures consistent with the company’s risk management framework

Daily and Monthly Responsibilities

  • Produce risk profiles, solvency assessments, internal and regulatory reports
  • Interpret model results and model change impacts
  • Support the production of information from the High Impact Change Model (HICM) for regulatory submissions to the relevant regulatory authorities
  • Recommend process or modeling improvements to support efficient generation of model outputs
  • Manage complex transactions or processes with multiple stakeholders

Skills and Qualifications

  • 2+ years experience in a financial services field 
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Strong data analytical and modeling skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Personable, collaborative, close attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications

  • Exposure to capital modeling
  • Knowledge of actuarial techniques
  • Knowledge of various IT tools (word, Excel, Access, Igloo preferable)
  • An interest in programmatic approaches, including the use of VBA, R, and capital modeling tools
