LinkedIn Learning
AI-powered features
As AI plays a growing role in learning, responsible use is essential to maintaining trust. At LinkedIn, our principles guide how we design, deploy, and govern AI with transparency, accountability, and a human-centered approach.
AI-powered coaching
AI-Powered Coaching will help employees quickly find and evaluate content that fits their learning needs. It provides actionable advice based on LinkedIn Learning content in an interactive manner. Employees can use a form of this when searching and get personalized content and insights in the in-course experience.
AI-powered role play
AI-Powered Role Play allows employees to practice real-world conversations to strengthen their confidence and prepare for challenging conversations at work. They will get feedback and course recommendations after each practice session.
AI-powered career plans
AI-Powered Career Plans help employees receive relevant and actionable learning plans with course recommendations based on their career and skill development goals (only on Career Hub).
AI-powered admin tools
In the admin experience, admins have access to customize and promote AI-Powered Role Play scenarios to help employees build confidence and crucial skills (only on Career Hub) and AI-Assisted curation, which can be used by admins to quickly discover suggested courses and videos based on their objectives.
Customer data is not used to train or fine tune GAI models
Customer data is not used to fine-tune or train content-generating AI models for LinkedIn’s GAI Learning features.
Our models leverage Microsoft Azure OpenAI API Services
LinkedIn Learning leverages LLM technology to power our AI-powered coaching (inclusive of AI-powered search), AI-powered role play, AI-powered career plans, and AI-powered admin features.
The LLMs currently in use are powered by Microsoft’s Azure OpenAI API Service. More information on how Azure OpenAI Service processes data is available.
Some learner data is used to personalize GAI Learning features
AI-powered coaching (inclusive of AI-powered search), AI-powered role play, AI-powered career plans, and AI-powered admin features may be personalized using data provided by learners on their LinkedIn profile if they have chosen to connect their Learning account, or data from learners’ Learning account. Inputs may include name, title, company, career intent, and followed skills depending on the Learn GAI feature.
Enterprise learner conversation data is customer personal data
LinkedIn stores conversation data for AI-powered coaching (inclusive of AI-powered search) and AI-powered role play, as customer personal data.
The organization associated with the enterprise account can delete conversational data through the Admin portal, or request an export of its learners’/employees’ conversation data by contacting Learning support. To access or delete data as an enterprise learner, you can submit a request to your account administrator.
Customers can opt out of ongoing storage of conversation data
If an admin opts out of storing this data, all previous learner conversation data will be deleted. Conversation data may be stored temporarily to power individual sessions for learners and improve product quality. During this time, the data won't be included in export requests. Learn more.
